The Sweet Art of Choco-Pan

When we first started Sumy Designs, one of our long time family friends at Sweet Art Galleries in Indianapolis asked for our help in revamping their site. They make the best cakes and sell Choco-Pan, Gourmet Rolled White Chocolate Fondant. Their original site consisted of pages made up of products and “Buy Now” buttons from Paypal. It worked, but it was rather tedious and of course, the design needed some work.

At the time, we’d never done an e-commerce site before, so we did some research and opted to use the Open Source OsCommerce program. And it worked. The store looked great and worked great and sales increased tremendously.

Several years later, we were approached about redoing that site, because the shopping cart was just out of date. The database was out of date, and it just needed redone.

So we started from scratch and came up with this beautiful design for a beautiful site and I’m really happy with how it came out.

The Big One

I’ve recently had the pleasure to collaborate with Molly Papier to create a site for David Kinney, author of a new book titled, “The Big One.” The Big One takes you inside five sleep-deprived weeks at the Vineyard’s Striped Bass and Bluefish Derby, the most celebrated striper fishing contest on the East Coast.

The book is interesting, and I’m really proud of the site we created. It’s a pure CSS/HTML site with a blog for news updates. What I love most about my job is that with every client, I learn something new and this one was no exception. Have a look!
