Pinterest is a visual take on social media, so if you want your images to be productive you need to make sure they get noticed.
Here are a few tips that will help you get more pins on Pinterest:
Go faceless
Pinterest research has found that pins without faces do better than those with faces. So skip the faces and focus on context.
Love color
Images that are saturated and full of color catch the attention of viewers and offer about twice as many pins.
Less whitespace
I can’t believe I just typed those words because I’m a huge fan of whitespace, but on Pinterest pins with less whitespace are repinned significantly more than those that have a white background.
Detailed Descriptions
Pins should have short descriptions that are useful and inspirational. Including these details will help drive engagement and result in more repins and click-throughs.
Tall not wide
Because of the way Pinterest is designed, images that are portrait get more retail space. Keep a 2:3 scale in mind when designing.
Text overlay
If your images aren’t perfectly clear, then adding a create an overlay with text will boost your amount of repins.
